Pick this if:
You are very brave;
You just want to refresh the surface layer yourself;
You need to remove hairline scratches (i.e., can see but cannot feel);
You want to even out any patchiness from wearing out over time or water marks or stains.
What to expect:
Watch our video here for the full process.
2 hours is a good overestimate for the whole process - about 30 minutes to watch the video and prepare all the things, and most of us will get the actual process done in 30 minutes. We’ve always found that it’s best to cater double the time you think you’ll need so that you’re in a better mental state to execute and results will be better.
Not suitable if:
Your table is the high-gloss, thick-lacquer surface type. Check out our Complete Overhaul service instead;
Your table has visible marks that you want removed/ filled. Check out our Rejuvenator service for light marks or our Complete Overhaul service for deeper scratches.
Your quote covers:
You can collect a DIY pack from us that will include:
Specialist surface cleaner
Either: Howards Feed N Wax (incl); OR Osmo Poly-x Matte (+$30); OR Both (+$36)
You have to get yourself:
A cleaning rag for pre-process cleaning. Expect to have to throw this away.
A cleaning rag for post-process buffing. Expect to have to throw this away.
Prepare the biggest cloth you can afford to throw away, the bigger the surface you want to refresh the bigger the cloth. In the workshop we often use up to half a bath-towel size for tables up to 1.8m, and a whole bath-towel size for tables larger than 1.8m.
You’ll be tempted to “save money” by getting a smaller towel, but trust us, it’s cheaper spending a bit more on the towel to throw away (doesn’t have to be an amazing towel, just large), than saving the money and ending up having to call in a professional to completely overhaul the finish because you couldn’t wipe it off in time.
